The latest offering from Expat Knives is the Libertariat designed by John Armstrong as a lightweight tropical survival knife. A lightweight short machete made to carry with you on your hike, coconut gathering or brush clearing adventures without taking up too much space. It also works very well in the kitchen slicing roast beef or large pork shoulders. It is based on the Latin American cacao or coconut knives that are used and abused in food gathering and prep. The Libertariat is made in El Salvador, where they know a thing or two about machetes. It’s also where Jeff and Expat spent some time a few years ago bumming around the country, leading to some pretty interesting stories about Expat’s global adventures.
